About Customer Growth and Engagement

Airbnb attracts millions of visitors every day, who are exploring options to create their magical trips with us - whether that is in a home, within a community, or new experiences. It is up to the Growth team to deliver on these amazing trips from ideas and planning to travel and repeat visits. We cannot fulfill our mission - to create a world where everyone can belong - without ensuring that a significant part of society is experiencing our products regularly. We want to identify and drive new growth opportunities that bring new users - guests and hosts - to experience Airbnb for the first time, and keep them engaged and inspired for their subsequent travel plans. To do this, we have to understand the different user journeys, find places where there could be friction or opportunity, and build innovative products and marketing campaigns that allow users to experience the best of Airbnb across all relevant businesses. We support these growth aspirations by effectively reaching and communicating with different communities of users at every step of their journey to inform, inspire and drive action.

About the Product Manager, Customer Growth

As a Product Manager, Customer Growth it will be your job to identify and build the growth levers that can help increase our user growth trajectory. Your responsibilities include driving the strategy, development, and execution of bold initiatives focused on improving customer metrics like activation, engagement, retention and reactivation, and evaluate performance against key KPIs. You’ll make use of your strong consumer instincts to conceive of innovative product ideas or experiments to run that are focused on influencing and driving user behavior that have a high likelihood of being successful at scale. You will do this by using your strong data-driven approach to identify the highest potential areas across the product experience, then test variants of those experiences that unlock growth. You have a deep understanding of how various engagement channels work, how best to leverage them in pursuit of growth, and then use a rapid pace of testing, learning, iterating to execute quickly. As a strong leader of your cross-functional pod (engineering, marketing, data science, design), you should be effective at incorporating the input and influencing work across multiple product, marketing and country-specific teams. This role is a special opportunity for someone who enjoys the intersection of Product and Marketing, using design and data to help millions of users experience the magic of Airbnb.

Responsibilities

  • Identify opportunities and establish a shared product vision and strategy for your product area. Challenge the status quo and inspire people toward a unified outcome. 
  • Develop the product roadmap and build consensus on prioritization which drives product execution to create clear goals for the team. Efficiently execute to ship product and deliver impact for our business and users.
  • Lead large, cross-functional groups of people to deliver on the team’s mission. Communicate concisely and influence outcomes.
  • Lead the ideation, research, design, development and launch of user-centric products
  • Build alignment across product teams, cross-functional partners (FP&A, Marketing, Operations, Customer Experience, Trust, etc.) and Leadership/Executive team.
  • Manage outcomes by creating daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports with partner leaders and cross functional teams using data

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of product management experience
  • BS/MS in Computer Science and/or related field preferred.
  • Demonstrated track record of product leadership.  Ability to lead and influence teams.
  • Experience with consumer internet products or marketplaces
  • Entrepreneurial drive and demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in an innovative and fast-paced environment
  • Creative problem solver. Able to identify real obstacles and viable solutions
  • Radical thinking paired with strong execution. Can envision a world different than the status quo with the ability to articulate a clear path to get there
  • Ability to quickly absorb technical concepts and communicate them to a non-technical audience.
