About the Marketing Technology Team

Marketing Technology is a platform team with the goal of delivering best-in-class marketing automation tools and systems that are used by our stakeholders in Marketing, the Guest Experience and Hosting product development teams, Policy, and more.  Our Mission is to enable marketing and product teams to deliver highly personalized and relevant content to the Airbnb community, both on-site and off-site.

The Marketing Technology team spans five pillars: (1) Demand side platform (DSP) that powers programmatic advertising - both search and display, (2) Email marketing platform, (3) Landing page platform, (4) Communications and delivery infrastructure that enables promotional and transactional content delivery at scale across multiple offline channels (e.g. email, push, sms), (5) Machine learning and data pipelines that enable optimizations and personalization.

About the Role

The Marketing Technology Operations Manager will report to the Director, Marketing Technology Operations. They will be responsible for setting up, tracking, monitoring and scaling Airbnb’s global media programs. This role will play a critical role in large-scale, innovative media executions, serving as the technical expert to the broader marketing team and agency partners. 

Our ideal candidate has experience working across digital media platforms with a deep understanding of media tracking and measurement. They thrive in a fast paced, data-led environment requiring both traditional ad operations and deep technical expertise. They are self-directed and motivated to solve complex problems. 

Responsibilities

  • Manage the ad trafficking process including tracking, measurement, attribution, optimization, automation and experimentation across web and apps as well as ongoing monitoring and QA
  • Build, maintain and monitor advertising performance dashboards
  • Troubleshoot technical implementations affecting advertising tracking, audience and or data sharing
  • Oversee onboarding for new media and measurement partners working with our security, privacy and legal teams
  • Ensure our marketing programs and technology are prepared for changes in ad tracking and measurement as privacy regulation and tracking methodologies evolve

Additional Qualifications

  • 5 years relevant work experience, ideally in high-growth tech start-up or performance-oriented marketing organization
  • Deep understanding of online marketing and how it works “under the hood”
  • Experience with marketing technology including tag management and mobile measurement platforms (MMP)
  • Understanding of web and app technology: cookies, SDKs, pixels and the privacy regulations that impact them (GDPR, ATT)
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to answer questions with SQL and read code
  • Passion for all things Airbnb and/or travel
