Data is essential to the success of Airbnb and the use of derived data is increasing throughout Airbnb’s product surfaces. The Data Frameworks is a part of the Users, Listings and Platforms group which is responsible for all things related to Users and Listings data and creating the platforms on which we build the next-generation applications at Airbnb.

The team’s main focus is bridging the gap between online and offline derived data use cases for the company. Our job is to build world-class comprehensive application frameworks, services and platforms to easily transform and serve derived data to the application stack.

What you will do:

  • Work in the intersection of online and offline data, storage layers and stream processing
  • Write maintainable and self-documenting code, and perform code reviews 
  • Work on and also contribute to open-source software, and have industry impact
  • Help to continue executing on our next-generation architecture redesign initiatives

What we are looking for:

  • BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 8+ years of industry experience
  • Experience with modern batch & real-time data processing technologies
  • Experience in building high performance distributed data-intensive systems
  • Hands-on experience working and designing GraphQL-based API is a big plus
  • Nice to have: experience working and managing Elasticsearch

The Location

This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager. Airbnb,Inc. can employ in  states where we have registered entities. Currently, employees can not be located in: Alaska, Indiana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, Wisconsin, Alabama, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Delaware and Rhode Island. The Pay

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The starting base pay for this role is between 190,000 and 245,000. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
