Engineering Manager, Policy Enforcement
The Payments organization at Airbnb enables people anywhere in the world to frictionlessly exchange money with easy to use payments services. It is a core strategy to fulfill Airbnb’s mission to belong anywhere. We are building a world-class payments platform that moves billions of dollars, in 191 countries, with 75+ currencies, through a complex ecosystem of payments partners. We build and maintain our own in-house global payments platform because no solution exists with the global reach needed. As the platform grows we’ll be adding new payment partners, global licenses, compliance and regulation controls, and building new payment experiences for our guests and hosts.
The Compliance organization, within Payments, ensures Airbnb is continuously compliant with all worldwide financial regulations across every transaction and for every participant on this platform.
The Policy Enforcement team is responsible for managing all of the core logic to track & apply financial regulatory policies at Airbnb. The team is highly collaborative, as they partner with Policy, Product, Engineering, Data Science, and Operations across Payments, and beyond, to ensure that Compliance is universally integrated across our platform.
As the Engineering Manager, you’ll be leading an accomplished team at the center of our Compliance program. You will have a large role in designing the systems and solutions fundamental to how Compliance, and Airbnb, will function for the next decade.
This role requires heavy cross-collaboration with teams across other Platform organizations (Payments, Trust, Tax) and functions (Product Management, Operations, Policy) to inform, validate, track and influence the implementation and maintenance of the rules that enforce compliance with Financial regulations within Airbnb's platform. This position is India - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager. While the position is Remote Eligible, you must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity.
