The Difference You Will Make:

The Senior Host Education Lead is an experienced leader who will drive the creation and execution of educational programs that inspire and empower our hosts to deliver the highest quality stays—and more in the future as Airbnb’s platform grows. This role will collaborate across functions to drive the scoping, strategy, execution, and implementation of global education initiatives that support the onboarding, continuous learning, and development of Airbnb hosts. Clearly aligned with our highest-priority company goals, these initiatives often take the form of scalable education—in-product content, webinars, workshops, articles, in-person sessions, or online toolkits—that cater to diverse learning styles and cultural contexts. 

A Typical Day: 

  • Lead the end-to-end strategy, definition, and execution of scaled host education initiatives with cross-functional partners, ensuring alignment with Airbnb’s highest-priority goals.
  • Drive the design and development of high-quality, on-brand educational content—including webinars, videos, articles, in-product content, and toolkits—grounded in host insights and data.
  • Drive program planning, resource allocation, and sequencing for large-scale initiatives, proactively identifying risks, removing obstacles, and formulating viable solutions.
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration with teams including Product, Marketing, Design, Policy, and Customer Support to ensure the work delivers on education goals and is aligned with business objectives and brand values.
  • Provide clear, succinct communication of project status, resource utilization, and performance metrics for cross-functional partners and senior/executive leadership.
  • Drive programs to completion by facilitating regular status and design review meetings, ensuring stakeholder alignment, documenting key decisions, tracking action items, and getting executive leadership alignment.
  • Optimize program effectiveness by aligning goals to key performance indicators (KPIs) and continuously iterating based on data-driven insights.
  • Partner with Community Directors and cross-functional teams to refine collective goals, roadmaps, and operational models.
  • Cultivate and foster strong cross-functional relationships in order to manage and influence stakeholder collaboration. 
  • Mentor and support junior team members.

Your Expertise:

  • Senior leader with 12+ years of experience in Consulting, Strategy, Marketing, Education, Program Management, or Product Management.
  • Proven track record of leading large-scale, cross-functional initiatives and driving impactful results in a matrixed organization.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to seamlessly zoom out to align educational programs with broader business goals and zoom in to ensure every detail is thoughtfully executed.
  • Strong data and analytics acumen, leveraging insights to drive decision-making and optimize program impact.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience engaging diverse audiences, including executive leadership and external partners.
  • Expertise in navigating ambiguity, making timely decisions, influencing partners, and aligning stakeholders around clear priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage operationally complex projects at scale, balancing competing priorities and optimizing resources across cross-functional teams.
  • Experience working in global, multicultural environments, designing inclusive educational programs with cultural sensitivity.
  • Deep connection to Airbnb’s mission and a passion for fostering Connection and Belonging.
  • Background in leading innovative programs / campaigns for scaled learning and behavior change.
  • Background in establishing systems: experience developing processes where little exists, and demonstrated flexibility to get things done.
  • Functional or technical expertise in designing and developing educational experiences, such as writing, video, graphic design, workshops/webinars, podcast/audio, course or curriculum development, digital products, community design, or interactive experiences is a plus.

Your Location:

This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager. Our job titles may span more than one career level. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
