The Difference You Will Make:

The People Analytics team is looking for an experienced Data Scientist to contribute to some of our key projects, such as survey analysis (employee listening); how to hire a best-in-a-generation workforce; and how to maintain fairness in key company processes. The role is highly cross-functional, and you will work with Talent Leaders, Legal, Diversity and Belonging, and other core people-oriented teams. We need a Data Scientist with a strong track record in translating data to insights and action.

A Typical Day: 

  • Collaborate with other Data Scientists to help stakeholders understand people-related business problems
  • Utilize appropriate statistical models and data science methodologies to gain insights, explain, or predict a wide variety of people-related processes, such as hiring, attrition, employee engagement, and workplace diversity, among others
  • Translate data and insights into meaningful visualizations and stories to drive strategy, action, and decision-making with stakeholders across the business
  • Align research priorities with business priorities and take a customer-focused mindset
  • Leverage academic expertise and knowledge of people analytics trends to address practical business challenges
  • Exercise traits of adaptability and good judgment to support organizational agility
  • Be a constant learner, active listener, and teacher to advance data science, people analytics, and Airbnb

Your Expertise:

  • 1-3 years in industry experience and/or a Master's degree/PhD in a quantitative field
  • Experience in research design and advanced statistical analysis (experimentation and quasi-experimental methods) 
  • Ability to conduct statistical analysis using R or Python
  • Ability to access databases via SQL
  • Knowledge of and experience in survey design and analysis
  • Experience interpreting survey data and using it to drive decisions
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to cross functional partners of varying technical levels
  • Experience working with large practical datasets

Your Location:

This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager. The hourly rate is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
